Release: 2.61

Minor bugfix release.

  • Further improvements on the jeweler skill.
  • Fixed crash bug in the 'observe' command.
  • Minor improvements in the server distribution.

Release: 2.6

Minor bugfix release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.6. Here are some highlights:

  • Balancing and extension of the jeweler skill, making it finally really usable.
  • Fixed many little bugfixes in various items and code parts.
  • Player kill message was fixed.
  • Healing spells were fixed and cost grace again.
  • Fixed the cone spells, which could go through walls in some conditions.
  • Icecube thawing works again.
  • Tutorial was improved to contain clues about chatting.
  • Item number decreasing contained a bug, where container stats weren't updated correctly.

Release: 2.56

Minor bugfix release.

  • An important performance bugfix has been done, and requires a newer version of Coro.
  • AnyEvent is used now to manage listening on ports.
  • IPv6 support.
  • Minor structural changes.

Release: 2.55

Another bugfix release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.55. Here are some highlights:

  • Optimized traffic and processing when crossing tiled map boundaries.
  • A few fixes in the archs and maps.
  • Fixed a crash, when player casts a swarm spell and logged out.
  • Fixed that skills remained in the range/combat slots when they were unapplied.
  • Locked doors can't be destroyed anymore, as this spoiled some quests considerably.
  • Fixed some merge issues with archetypes with different facings.

Release: 2.54

A major bugfix release.

  • Changed floorbox item ordering to stay in sync with latest client release.
  • The jumping skill now gives experience for killing monsters.
  • Players couldn't starve in the last relase.
  • All spell effects are removed on death now.
  • Fixed a crash with treasure generation.
  • Applying inventory items works again when levitating.
  • Support for larger random maps was implemented.
  • Fixed the bones archetype to have the right material.
  • Added support for the 'no_drop' map header.
  • Fixed per-race starting maps.
  • Fixed rounding errors in weight calculation.
  • And lots of other small fixes all over the place.

Release: 2.53

A major bugfix release.

  • Invite messages got some hints.
  • Custom skills for items are now corrently saved.
  • Fixed ghostitems in the inventory.
  • Player starvation gives the correct kill message.
  • Mailscrolls are handed out correctly now.
  • Bugfixes and enhancements in the random map generator.
  • Shops don't make items unpaid which they are not interested in.
  • Implemented kill & death statistics.
  • And lots of enhancements on the game core.

Release: 2.52

A feature and bugfix enhancement release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.52. Here are some highlights:

  • The add/delete/remove/insert and weight logic has been rewritten and cleaned up to prevent ghost items in the players inventory.
  • Fixed a crash bug in archetype reloading and an item merge bug related to archetype reloading.
  • Portability fixes for FreeBSD.
  • Longstanding bug with opened contains has been fixed.
  • Party commands now have their own channel tab in the client.

Release: 2.51

A major bugfix and feature enhancement release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.51. Here are some highlights:

  • Linking against libgthread was fixed for more thread safety.
  • Support for Perl without 64 bit support was fixed.
  • Godgiven items are always put into the players inventory now.
  • A Go board and stones have been added, to be able to play Go.
  • The alchemy spell is now part of the new alchemy spell school.
  • Spark shower and destruction spells have been rebalanced.
  • And memory management has been improved in many places.

Release: 2.5

A major bugfix and feature enhancement release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.5. Here are some highlights:

  • The money has been refactored, 1 gold coin is now worth 100 silver coins, 1 platinum coin is worth 100 gold coins and 1 royalty is worth 100 platinum coins.
  • The uuid file format has been changed and is written asynchronously now, fixing possible hiccups in the server.
  • Refactoring and cleanup of memory management in the random map generator, fixing a minor memleak.
  • Converters no longer accept unpaid items, preventing exploitation of possible bugs in shops.
  • Lots of other minor fixes and enhancements, for more information take a look at the Changes file.

Release: 2.42

A minor bugfix and feature enhancement release.

Changes can be reviewed at Changes for 2.42. Here are some highlights:

  • The default experience table has been rebalanced to be more exponential and much easier up to level ~40, then moderately harder.
  • Changed attuned/repelled level boni to +-8 from +-2.
  • The server wont exit on reload/load errors, but will properly cleanup.
  • Fixed a 32bit uncleanlyness in the slice debugging wrapper.
